Pay Per Click Advertising
Pay per click (PPC) is an Internet advertising model
used on websites, in which advertisers pay Google (and other search engines) only when their advert is clicked. Google charges a fixed price per click known as the Cost per click (CPC). This is the amount of money an advertiser pays Google for a single click on its advertisement that brings one visitor to its website.
Such advertisements are called sponsored links or sponsored ads and appear adjacent to or above organic results on search engine results pages. For many reasons, we generally recommend to only use Pay Per Click advertising in small doses & instead focus on getting top organic search results through one of our online marketing plans.
It is pointless paying for a small short-term advertisement when you can have an entire website online permanently at the top of Google search results showcasing your products or services.
However, Pay Per Click can be very useful in some sectors (accommodation & travel related bookings for example) to boost traffic to your website. It can also be used for immediate results while your online marketing is implemented over a period of months. Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing & Microsoft adCenter are the three largest network operators. Cost per click (CPC) varies depending on the search engine & the level of competition for a particular keyword.
